Washoe County Old Boy Network about to Go Bye-Bye

What does the new Washoe County Democratic majority mean? It means that an awful lot of nervous Judges and County Commissioners in future elections.

With only one Democrat on the Washoe County Commission, one Democrat on the Reno City Council and only a few Blue Judges in the area, things will be changing.

There has always been a numbers problem in the County for Democrats (since 1978 anyway), but not anymore. The chill factor for Democrats planning a run at one of these previously "GOP only", has kept many great people from even considering a run at one of these offices.

The domination of the Republican Party within the County, has led to an "Old Boy Network" complete with shenanigans, favoritism and exploitation that usually comes about when one Party holds all the cards.

Competition is a good thing. It has a tendency to keep people honest and attentive to all the constituents, not just their Partisan Buddies.

Have you noticed how many Republicans within the state have stopped branding themselves as "Red to the Bone Republicans"? Well get used to it. You're going to see a lot of that in the future.
