STEAL THE VOTE: Made-Up Registration Problems

God Knows I screw around on this site. I make fun of everything and everyone. Which is an American thing to do, for those of you who read this blog internationally(all three of you).

But one thing I don't joke about is the election on November 4th. The actual vote counting, and a citizens right and ability to cast a ballot for their candidate.

The Nevada GOP, led by Governor Jim Gibbons and Heidi Gansert have started a PR campaign, as has the GOP across the country, to discredit recent voter registration efforts in Nevada.

If you've read any of the other blogs, especially The Desert Beacon, you will know that the recent raid on A.C.O.R.N. was a little bit overblown, when compared to Gibbons and Gansert's allegations about the integrity of the new Democratic majority in Nevada. If 183 "problem" registrations, out of literally tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of registrations are an issue, I am betting that the GOP are going to do everything they can to discredit our elections in November. They started the machine, and they're getting ready to rev it up.

As I've discussed in many previous posts, the Judges throughout Nevada including here in Washoe County, are Republicans. If high-ranking government officials like our Governor have the political weight to have voting issues taken in front of the judges, we will not be happy with the outcome.

Two words: Florida Recount.

Although some of the rules involving challenging voters statuses has been changed in recent years, it doesn't take A Great Legal Scholar to recognize the extreme possibility that our incumbent politicians have the means, the will and the desire to wrestle a fair election away from the voters and turn it over to someone like Judge Polaha, who in recent years has systematically ruled favorably in GOP interests.

If you think "it can't happen here", think again. In fact plan on it.

  1. Good job. I didn't know the full number of "problem registrations" till seeing this.

Thankfully, the landslide will be so huge that Heidi and Jim will just have to plain shut up!

I just got an updated list of voters in my precinct (via Van) and I am pleased to see more and more people participating. Looks like a lot of new REAL people (not Dallas Cowboys) are finding it necessary to get involved by at least the simple act of voting.

People who have not voted before need to have a photo id. Or...is there a backup people can use if they don't have one of those????

  2. Unkempt- if they do not have a photo id, they should honestly go get an ID card from the DMV as soon as possible. Also, if the address on their ID doesn't match their voting address, they should bring a power bill or other piece of mail from that address with their name on it. If anyone has questions, or feels that their rights are being marginalized, they should call 877-Obama-NV and speak with a member of the Voter Protection Team.

No greater right, no greater responsibility, than that of the citizen to vote for whom they choose!

  3. My friend, at the end 'o the day on Nov. 4, you're going to find this won't affect the outcome one ivota.

But it's going to keep coming back and coming back because the SOS is just cutting off the tip 'o the tail and not the head of this monster.

In this quite obvious pay-for-registrations scheme the SOS should be following the money trail to see who's behind this. Somebody is paying for this to occur and we need to know who if we are to get to the bottom of who is trying to rig our elections.

But checking Campaign Finance and Expense Reports is something our SOS simply will not do. So expect this to continue until we find and reveal the money source for all this to happen.

  4. Re: pay, the nature of the problem exists in paying by number of new registrants (ACORN system) and by the hour (Move.On.org system).
No complaints related to MoveOn, so far as I've heard. Only problems reported are due to individual ACORN hirees (and not likely the management).
